I was on my way to class, and these two ladies who were dressed like they were headed to a PTA meeting stopped me in the hallway. I felt them staring at me as I walked past them, but I didnt realize they were sizing me up. Of course I thought they were lost, so I stopped. I should not have stopped.
This tiny asian woman in a white cardigan practically ran after me and introduced herself and the lady next to her. And then she asked me if I was interested in their bible study group. HA! Right. Sure. I politely informed them that I’m muslim, and the first thing out of their mouths was “Oh! You don’t look Muslim!” Well lady you look like a buddhist so I guess we’re both in the same boat, huh?
But of course I was nice about it. I told them theres a lot of similarities between our religions and she tried to convince me that I should learn about the bible because “unlike other religions” the bible teaches about the spiritual life. Or something like that. I don’t know. I just nodded politely and pretended to be interested cuz I didn’t want to be like “Lol I’m moozlum peace out sucka”. Ya know?
Moral of the story: People think I look like I need Jesus.
